Stocktake Saturday 36

Welcome to Stocktake Saturday! This feature is where I share some bookish news with you and then show you all the bookish goodies I got over the week. First up are the covers that were revealed this week (links to Goodreads pages):

In bookish news, HarlequnTeen US has announced (via Twitter) the official name of Aimée Carter’s new series: The Blackcoat Rebellion. The series will begin in December 2013 with Pawn.

Kendare Blake’s Anna Dressed in Blood is set to become a movie! The young-adult novel about ghosts will be produced by none other than Stephanie Meyer, author of the Twilight series, who has created a movie producing company called Fickle Fish. Meyer is also working on The Host, the cinematic adaptation of a science fiction novel she wrote, and has bought the rights to Austenland, an adaptation of Shannon Hale’s novel.

More exciting adaptation news: the Delirium series by Lauren Oliver is coming to your TV screens! It will be adapted into a TV series by Fox Studios, who have asked for a Pilot episode to be shot. After initially buying rights to the trilogy with the intent of turning into a movie series, Fox realised the plot will work much better as a TV series – there are so many characters and intertwining plot-lines. You can read more about the announcement and what it means for the books in the blog post Lauren wrote about it.

This week I have been Waiting On …  Gods and Monsters: Unclean Spirits by Chuck Wendig.

I received the following books for review this week (links to Goodreads pages):

  • Hidden (Avena #1) by Marianne Curley

Last week I was 17 books ahead with the book buying quota in my Read Three, Buy One scheme, with 5 book purchases unlocked. I didn’t buy any books this week, but I reviewed the following:

  1. Hyddenworld by William Horwood
  2. The Fallen Omnibus 2: Aerie and Reckoning by Thomas E. Sniegoski
  3. The Vincent Brothers by Abbi Glines
  4. Level 2 by Lenore Appelhans

This leaves me 21 books ahead with the book buying quota, and with 7 book purchases unlocked!!

I hope you have some goodies to share as well, leave your links below and I’ll be sure to visit 🙂

Happy Reading!
